My Approach
IFS is an evidence-based model of psychotherapy that can be used to heal trauma, improve relationships, and create a more fulfilling life. It's natural to have different parts of our personality that direct our attention towards various goals and away from what they fear. When each part is hyper focused on their goal or fear avoidance, the larger system can be moved off balance. When we are able to compassionately soothe, give space to and support activated parts, we can help them to heal and become more flexible. Inner calm and emotional flexibility allow our innate healing and creative abilities to be freed up to do what they are designed to do in our lives. Once all our parts feel accepted and safe again, the energy that had been focused on avoidance can become available to pursue new goals or simply enjoy life as intended.
